In our house no one likes eating overripe bananas, so here is what I do with them:
I turn them into yummy frappés and my kids love them!
whenever you have an overripe banana, peel it, cut it into slices and freeze the slices wrapped in some cling film. When the banana is frozen it’s ready to use.
Here is what you need:
- frozen banana
- a plant based milk (hazel nut, rice, almond, coconut)
- unsweetened, pure cocoa powder
- a few drops vanilla extract (optional)
Put all ingredients in the blender and mix well. Experiment with the amount of milk, if you use a little bit, you’ll get a sorbet type consistency and can eat it with a spoon. If you use more you’ll get a nice, cold frappé. Enjoy!
You can also use frozen berries with or without banana (I would not use cocoa powder in this case). If you don’t use banana, you may want to sweeten the frappé with dried dates or some liquid stevia.
